2001 – 2011
The school of operations: ten years in the field
The journey began somewhere that gave no hint of what would follow: supervising staff at Spek Across the Kingdom. Four years in direct contact with people, from hiring and discipline to settling daily disputes, taught him what is hard to learn later from behind an executive desk: a company is, at its core, a group of people governed by systems.
In 2006 Saudi Oger put him, as Water Sector Manager, at the heart of major infrastructure projects and the contracts, contractors and delivery schedules they demand. In the same years Iskan brought him, for the first time, close to the room where real estate and investment decisions are made. He then returned to the people side from a higher seat, as Human Resources Manager at Fakieh Factory.
He left the first decade with three assets that rarely meet in one person: field operations experience, fluency in finance and investment, and a specialism in building human capital.
